Mon Ami Gabi
At the Paris Hotel 3655 Las Vegas Blvd S Las Vegas, NV 89109 (702) 508-0655
Part of the charm of Mon Ami is the fact that it sits directly across the Strip from the Bellagio so those of you that don’t already take full advantage of the option to sit on the patio and watch the Bellagio fountain show while you eat should immediately begin doing so on your next visit. Inside, you’ll find a bustling French bistro that is always lively. When you arrive, try the escargot, warm brie or onion soup from the appetizer menu and grab a French wine by the glass from the rolling wine cart. In addition to the eleven options on the menu for classic steak frites (steak and fries), Mon Ami offers a number of other tasty non-beef options. If you’re lucky enough to be there for the Chilean Sea Bass special, don’t miss out on it. For dessert, try the bananas foster crêpe and warm chocolate bread pudding with a cappuccino and sit back and enjoy the piped in music from across the street that enhances the water show. Probably is the best spot to people-watch on the Strip too and believe us, that’s always a fun time.
Piccolo Sogno
464 N Halsted St # 1 Chicago, IL 60642-7687 (312) 421-0077
This true ‘little dream’ boasts one of the largest and most popular patios in the city and is perfect for people-watching. Rustic Italian cuisine and an all-Italian wine program combine to provide the perfect authentic Italian dining experience where simple food is lovingly prepared from fresh, local ingredients and then paired with your choice of over 400 regional wines, by the glass or bottle – each one described in detail. Exposed brick walls, Italian marble bar, partially open kitchen with wood-burning oven that produced the ‘Whole fish of the day’ dish baked with Sicilian sea salt crust, braised fennel, and a citrus and caper reduction that had all heads turning every time one left the kitchen. The nicest part of experiencing the true family-first atmosphere here was getting to watch Management and chefs sit and dine together at one table at the end of service and enjoy each other’s company over their own creations. Totally charming experience.
